The Painted Coast - Stuart Jones Exhibition

The Painted Coast: Tyneside showcases the oil paintings of landscape
artist Stuart Jones.  Working outdoors on location with his easel is
what drives Stuart’s work.  In his 'plein air' paintings, his aim is to
convey a sense of the light, mood and atmosphere at the coast as well as
the activity taking place in his 'busy beach scenes'.

Many works feature prominent landmarks and locations familiar to those in the region.  In
this exhibition, he has also produced studio paintings based around the
figure to provoke the shared experience of visiting the seaside. 

Stuart is continually inspired by the many watch houses and lighthouses that
echo man's presence in the landscape and excited by capturing the moment
in paint.
